2011-JUL -> Ben Franklin Society Open House July 4th

We hosted a Ben Franklin Society Open House on July 4th from 1:00-5:00pm. Over 40 folks found the time on a busy holiday weekend to stop by for some excellent food, company and a tour of the Cabin (still under construction). The outdoor picnic featured some delicious pork ribs, shrimp, beef, corn-on-the-cob, cheeses, fruit, watermelon and drinks.

The Cabin and Grounds will serve as the headquarters for the Society, as the site for the Franklin BreadWorks (Society private dining club), and as a new facility to host corporate and group meetings and outdoor events.

For most that attended is was the first time they had visited and seen the improvements we have made over the past two years. Many saw friends they had not seen recently. Everyone had a wonderful time – despite the warm weather – the shaded picnic area and breeze made for a comfortable afternoon.
